Adrienne’s Club opened on the 26th of September and was a huge success. With music from the 80′s and the 90′s everyone was dancing and a great time was had by all. We’re looking forward to many more events at Adrienne’s.

Former Deco Loft #1 Resident Daddy Bonetto now spends his days on the Lower East Side of NYC, under the Brooklyn Bridge. “I don’t understand how it could have happend? Ok I like to have a taste every now and then, and I’ve been known to raise a lil hell in my day…but nothing could have prepared me for this drastic lifestyle change…I can however, look at the bright side (cause it’s always daylight here for some reason…) there’s plenty of fresh air, a great view — and with enough imagination–rat tastes just like chicken!”

Old New York prepares to get its week long Halloween event under way. Residents are decorating their units with pumpkins and ghosts, bats and webs, witches and goblins. The event will run the entire week from October 25, ending with a block party for the tenants on October 31. Tenants will leave their own creations that they want to give away in a jack o’ lantern outside their front doors for that week. Other tenants will be able to go door to door picking up their treats .. or tricks .. Zarra Giha has volunteered to do up the entire back derelict street on Staten Island for the occasion. Should prove to be an interesting and fun week. Looks like some people have gotten a head start.

King Kong Lives? According to the 2005 movie chronicling the life of King Kong from the time of his capture on Skull Island, King Kong was shot down in a hail of bullets as he made his climb to the top of the Empire State Building in New York City. Severely wounded and confused, King Kong lost his balance and tumbled to his death.
However, according to these photos and the undeniable, eyewitness account from a reliable New York resident, Daddy Bonetto, King Kong was seen wandering the streets of Old New York City with a definite look of nostalgia apparent in his large brown eyes, on or about the weekend of September 12.
This sudden appearance of, what was once thought of as only legend, opens up a plethora of unanswered questions. Was King Kong’s death faked in order to afford him a peaceful life, unencumbered by man’s infinite sense of greed? Should our residents live in fear, never knowing when or if this 25 foot monster will be caught surreptitiously staring in their windows with huge, unblinking eyes? Will he enter into a fit of rage consequently ripping out huge chunks of pavement, tearing apart entire buildings, toppling trees and upsetting our subway system? Is he on a seemingly futile search to find his lost love, Ann Darrow, and will he mistake one of our female residents as such? Maybe, he’s just looking for an apartment to live in?
Regardless of our desire to see these questions, and others, answered, there does not appear to be any reason to fear at this time, as King Kong was reasonably docile at the time of his appearance, and, to my knowledge, has not been seen since.

A Homeless shelter….. because NYC would not be complete without one..
The shelter is still being built, and what we hope that it will provide is a contribution to the Second Life community as a whole, not just as part of the operation of the New York sims. The homeless shelter will provide temporary homes, or home logins to brand new second life residents at no charge. We will also provide boxes of freebie items and landmarks, information and tips and tricks for getting around second life. All of this is still in the process of being compiled and built. Qualifying rules will be that an avatar will need to be less than 30 days old with a maximum ‘no charge rental’ of 30 days.
Some of you may have noticed that a NYC subway popped up over the sims. The track is one continuous loop encompassing the entirety of the 2 sims, with 4 stops, so far. It’s still not finished and needs some tweaking, and the sim crossings play havoc with the hair, but it’s definitely a needed attraction giving an added sense of reality to the sims.
We also removed the canal between the 2 sims and leveled out the land there. We felt that visitors to the sims stopped at the obvious sim border, and didnt cross over. Since the canal was removed we have seen that visitors keep on walking, thereby giving them the tour of both of the sims rather than just one or the other.
